Favorite Talk: Bridges and Eternal Keepsakes
In the talk, Bridges and Eternal Keepsakes, Elder Neuenschwander explained that family history builds bridges between generations. I loved this visual that we are the architects of the bridge between the past and the future. Elder Neuenschwander clarified that we are the "eternal architect". The things we do here on earth matter and will have an impact on the generations to come. We each have a responsibility to keep the memories and stories of our ancestors alive. This is joyful work!
The other emphasis I really enjoyed is the knowledge that family history work with the temple is not complete. The goal is to get our ancestors to the temple, which will allow them to make covenants with the Lord. They can't do this without you.
"Knowledge of our ancestors shapes us and instills within us values that give direction and meaning to our lives." Elder Dennis B. Neuenschwander
