Cousins

There’s something special about cousins. They’re family, but they often feel like built-in friends. When we gather with cousins, it’s like blending the comfort of home with the excitement of adventure.

Cousins share the inside jokes at family reunions, the late-night games at grandma’s house, and the laughter that comes from simply being together. They remind us that family history isn’t only about the past — it’s about the relationships we’re building right now. The memories we make with cousins today will become the stories our children and grandchildren remember tomorrow. We still share stories about our Grandad not being able to see over the steering wheel and our Nan with her favorite grandchildren. Each story we share is accompanied by joy and laughter. We equally miss those who connect us. In those moments, our loved ones don't feel so far away.

Spending time with cousins helps us feel the threads of family history in everyday life. We realize we’ve inherited the same smiles, the same sense of humor, maybe even the same competitive streak. When we play, laugh, and share stories together, we’re strengthening bonds that stretch back through our ancestors and forward to future generations.

Cousins are proof that family history is living, joyful, and fun.

I don't get to see my cousins often, but I am grateful that we can communicate instantly through social media.

I am also grateful that my children get to spend lots of time with their cousins. The memories they share will last for generations.
